Villages under Biokovo 1
Villages under Biokovo 1 is a light mountaineering tour. Veliko Brdo, Puharići, Makar and Kotišina are villages at the foot of Biokovo, above Makarska. Most of their residents have moved to Makarska. A few remain in the villages, repairing their ancient homes or building new ones. These lively villages, with preserved village architecture and beautiful overlooks are favorite spots for picnics and field trips.
From the bus station along the street Ruđer Bošković, Putem mlikarica, over the main road, next to elementary school Petar Perica, a wide path through the olive groves in the village Veliko Brdo. From the church in Veliko Brdo up to the upper hamlet Rusendići, then right, through the fire beneath the rocks to village Makar. We continue through the village Piraci, next to the ruins of the Church of St. Martin to the Botanical Garden in Kotišina. From here return to the concrete through the main road behind Elektrodalmacija in Makarska.
